Winter Warmer with Gia’s Kitchen

I know you are reading this hoping this is not one of those boring posts about food and how to stay healthy blah-blah-blah. No! This post is going to make you miss home and your favourite family member’s cooking if you’ve flown from the nest to live in another province or country.

Gia’s Kitchen recently sent me a voucher to try some of their fresh made frozen foods to taste and I promised you that if I was happy with them, I would tell you guys to give them a try too. If you are reading this, just know that the tasting was a success and I absolutely love their dishes.

The voucher I received granted me the joy of choosing 3 delicious meals from their website and I decided to go with options for meat eaters and vegans (let’s not exclude the vegans). One thing I can guarantee is that this chilly bite of Cape Town winter will leave you craving more of their food as soon as you’ve polished off your first dish – it’s THAT GOOD! Here are the meals I tried:

  • A lentil dhal: Lentils are rich in fibre, folate and potassium making them a great choice for the heart and for managing blood pressure and cholesterol. You can have this with a side of green salad or a protein of your choice. This dish is a tasty meat alternative for those of you living it up plant-based or looking to break your meat streak.
  • Tangy Thai tomato soup: This was by far one of my favourites as it just melts your heart and floods your tastebuds with bold, aromatic flavours. There is something about how Gia’s Kitchen prepares their food, I swear everything is measured to perfection! This is the type of soup you have when you want a quick snack before your lunch or dinner, or to keep warm during lunch break. You can never go wrong with it.
  • For the meat eaters, there’s the lamb madras curry which is quite literally mouth-watering (I’m salivating just writing about it). This dish has ingredients such as free-roaming lamb, Coconut Milk, Coriander, Cumin, Garam Masala, Vegetable Oil among other.

I know you have already made up your mind on ordering and you are wondering when it gets delivered. The system is easy: Gia’s Kitchen is only available for orders in Cape Town and surrounding areas. They deliver based on a location and the schedule provided for the location.

You can find them on https://giaskitchen.co.za/ to order your meals.
